Excel Analytics: The complete best explained Free Tutorials

Can you do analytics—either kind—using Excel? Sure. Excel has a large array of tools that bear directly on analytics, including various mathematical and statistical functions that calculate logarithms, regression statistics, matrix multiplication and inversion, and many of the other tools needed for different kinds of analytics. But not all the tools are native to Excel.

For example, some situations call for you to use logistic regression: a technique that can work much better than ordinary least-squares regression when you have an outcome variable that takes on a very limited range of values, perhaps only two. Odds ratios are the workhorses of logistic regression, but although Excel offers a generous supply of least-squares functions, it doesn’t offer a maximum likelihood odds ratio function.

5 Tips Failure to Success

I hate that expression! And everyone seems to use it. Got fired from your job? It is what it is. Lost your savings? It is what it is. Put on 50 pounds? It is what it is.

Never useIt is what it is

Stop saying “it is what it is.” The expression is a mantra for losers. Be honest with yourself. Halfway through the tryout, you thought it wasn’t going well, so you stopped pushing yourself, didn’t you?  “Tryouts didn’t go well because you didn’t try your hardest. You gave up mentally, so you gave up physically.” When you fail, figure out why ?It’s my fault. It’s always my fault—that way I am in control. Adopted from www.success.com

An effective methodology for BI Implementation

Given below is an approach that one could follow to ensure an effective implementation of any BI initiative.

Follow different steps in BI Project
1. Requirements elicitation is the most important activity in a BI exercise. We need to very clearly understand the motivation behind the management's need for analytics and their short-term, medium-term and long-term objectives. You may conduct a workshop with all stakeholders to understand these requirements. Identifying and involving all stakeholders in the requirements discussion is very important to gain buy-in for the BI initiative throughout the enterprise. 2. Anyone would like to see a sample of analytics and play around a little to get a sense of the benefit/impact of analytics. Hence developing a quick prototype and showcasing the same to all stakeholders will help you get the necessary impetus for the initiative. CAVEAT: Please ensure that the prototype development does not take more than two weeks.

How Bigadata Helps Recruit and Retain-Talent

Big Data is the buzzword of the year. Every leader — whether they’re managing a small team or are at the helm of a multinational corporation with thousands of employees — is wondering how they can use Big Data to better get to know their people, to create a setting that better suits their needs and, in turn, drive recruitment and retention. As co-authors of The Decoded Company: Know Your Talent Better Than You Know Your Customers, we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this exact topic. Here are the top five trends you should be thinking about.

1. We are living in a data-abundant environment, and it’s changing everything. Gary Hamel, one of the world’s leading thinkers on the topic of management, has written extensively on the topic of the technology of leadership (or what he more accurately calls the technology of human accomplishment). He believes — and we tend to agree — that this might be the most important technology humanity has ever created. It gives us extraordinary superpow…

"You have to look at the stakeholders involved and what the cost of what you're doing is relative to the benefit of doing it," Use analytics through accountable processes, one of which should be acknowledging that using predictive analytics with the workforce has the potential for negative impact, not just positive impact, Walzer said.Engage the legal department to make sure you understand any implications before you've done something, not after the fact.Assess whether the use of analytics involves sensitive areas, which it often will, Walzer said.
